I must say that the Book #1 I read it in Spanish, but starting with Book #2, couldn't find it. So, just got the eBook in its English version (than God I have enough level to read and understand it!). :)
Just like the first book of the series, it kind of took me a while till I got hooked into the story. Why I kept on reading? Just like the first one again... I just like to finish what I start. With this series, I end up liking the book from its half part to the end.
Why I liked it?(1) it has magic in it;
(2) the protagonist is a women pretending to be strong and actually fighting to achieve that;
(3) there are supernatural events and people;
(4) more than the "human world", part that I generally tend up liking in any book.
Why was it so hard for me to hook up?(1) Maybe the pace it´s too slow until the past half to the end and then accelerates contrasting the anterior pace;
(2) There is too much romance in it for my taste;
(3) Descriptions of places, thoughts, ideas, whatever! get too long and boring at times;
(4) there is a certain spark missing... the one that didn´t light up for me with this second book of this series either.
Other thoughts?* I still enjoyed the reading;
** And I finally managed to motivate myself in order to keep the interest and find out how in the world (—or if—) they kill that Cade guy and now I´m left wondering if his twin brother Dace is still alive, dead, undead or who knows what?
Hope you enjoyed my review. Have to admit that this is my first review ever... I generally read and write in Spanish (—when comes to novel... if we talk about novel writing, editing, publishing or marketing... I choose English for that; much better resources found). So hope you liked my first review... In English on top of everything.
